The practice of coaching is a transformational process that takes clients from where they are to where they desire to go; keeping in mind their natural gifts, abilities and perceived obstacles. It is a powerful process that facilitates SUSTAINABLE CHANGE by using ‘asking’ vs. ‘telling’. The coaching process involves creating an ACTION PLAN that requires that the client not only aspire to ‘become’ but actually puts in the necessary work to make it happen.
This process is totally guided by the client. It is the belief of the coach that the client (when acting authentically) is the expert of their own life.
The coaching process builds toward the future instead of focusing on the past. There are moments when the past will be relevant when deciding where to go, but the majority of the focus will be on the present and the future. A coach is more like an architect who builds toward the future…unlike an archeologist (therapy, counseling) whose main focus is dealing with the past.
A transformation process that takes clients from where they are to where they desire to go. It helps to facilitate change and accomplishment in any area in which the client wishes to grow.
A process that builds towards the future.
A Process for sustainable change using ‘asking’ vs. ‘telling’.
Counseling or Therapy: These practices deal more with a person’s past and need for healing. (Clients will be referred to licensed professionals in the event that the coach feels the client needs one of these services).
Mentorship: This practice deals with succession training and getting clients to replicate the mentor.
Consultant: This practice deals with solving problems and providing expertise and methodologies.
All of these practices; along with coaching, can be combined. However, it is in the best interest of the client for the coach to only wear the hat of a coach. In the event that the coach feels the need for the client to receive another service, referrals will be made.
